As the spammers online are increasingly getting more sophisticated, so is the internet technology to combat the spam. Some people are unfamiliar with the technologies discussed here which will both:

  • Prevent spammers from spoofing & pretending to use your email address
  • & Prevent your emails from falsely ending up in the spam folder of the recipient

The technology to combat these spammers and prevent your emails from going to the old spam box is called Email Authentication. The two technologies used for Email Authentication are:

  1. SPF– which means Sender Policy Framework
  2. DKIM– which stands for DomainKeys Identified Mail

Luckily, if you use Cpanel like I do for all my clients, you can simply click the enable buttons to activate these two technologies. When logged in, simply follow these steps:

  1. Click the “Email Authentication” button
  2. Click “Enable” for both.
  3. Then click “Update” to save the changes.

At HyperLead IT, we ensure these important DNS entries are done for all our websites. Contact us to get a website or have me set these email authentication methods up for you.
